Three Types of Vaastu—Vaastu is the arrangement of space on the earth or any piece of land. The most vibrant energy resides in the earth and is called by different names such as Bhoomi Purush, Vaastu Naathan and Vaastu Purush. It is said that when 'Vaastu Purush' is oriented towards the cardinal directions i.e. North, East, South and West, he is considered to be awake and when oriented towards the angular directions like the North East (NE) South East (SE), South West (SW) and North West (NW) he is considred to be asleep. Sthira VaastuHere, the position of Vaastu purush along North East (NE) and SouthWest (SW) is said to be his permanent body position. It is considred the most important position and it is concerned with the construction of a house, temple, village etc. It is the permanent position of any construction for all seasons throughout the year. Most of the Vaastu principles of this position were carved to avoid the scorching ray of Sun during the Summer season. Chara VaastuThe second type of vaastu is called 'Chara Vaastu' or moving body, Here, The Vaastu purush lies on his side in one direction for full three months and keeps on rotating in a clockwise direction. It means it is closely linked to the various seasonal changes. Chara Vaastu is useful for the construction of shivira (temporary residence), tents, temporary banquet halls, moving circus shows, religious gatherings or dramas. This construct-ion is done only for a maximum time period of three months.
